I decided that it was only fair to start a new blog for the new baby-bean that is on the way. I'll still try to keep this blog updated with Kennedy pictures and news, but will be tracking this pregnancy on a new blog!

I know I know...I suck at updates...sorry!
I was just talking to the one colleague of mine to whom I have disclosed the existence of this blog, and she mentioned that she had noticed my complete and utter failure to keep it up-to-date…so I figure now is as good a time as any to post an update (and try to be more diligent about continuing to do so on a more regular basis).
What have I neglected to blog about…well,
• Kennedy’s 1st Birthday Party (so much fun…great turnout…and all-around success if I do say so myself). I have a few pictures, but since I’m at work, I can’t post any at the moment).
• Christmas Eve at Prof Man’s parents’ place (great as usual…mmm…perogies and cabbage rolls…makes me hungry for next year already!).
• Flew out first thing in the morning on Christmas Day to Anaheim and spent a week in Disneyland with my parents and James and Danielle! Tons of fun, but completely and totally exhausting. So much so that even though we flew home for New Year’s Eve…we ended up leaving the party after less than an hour, and went home to relax and spent our second New Year’s Even in a row sitting on our couch! No regrets at all…just an indication that we’re getting old, I guess!
• My birthday was in there, as was Prof Man’s…both uneventful (again, because we’re old!).
I think that covers off the big “events”…other than one fun discovery that I will talk about in a minute. :)
I have been back at work now for almost 4 months. It’s still tough to concentrate when I have a sweet little nugget getting into trouble at home…but I’m getting better at it. I’m sure I’ll be right back to “normal” by the time I take my next maternity leave, ha ha!
And that brings me to my more important announcement: Kennedy has a baby brother or sister on the way!!! Expected due date is September 20 (but I now know better than to bank on the accuracy of the expected due date!). We’re super excited!
If that wasn’t enough excitement, we’re also moving in two months! We’ve sold our place (subjects still have to be removed though, so fingers crossed that that goes well)…and are currently hunting for a new place (which I think we’ve found, but we’re waiting to start negotiating in the hopes that we get a good price). One way or another, we’re moving by May 15! Crazy! Did I mention we’re moving to the ‘burbs!? Uhh…yeah. 2 adults, 1 baby, 1 baby on the way, and 1 dog = need a bigger house! On top of that, with my parents moving to California at the end of the month (oops, guess I forgot to mention that as well…lots has happened since I last posted!)…we needed a guest bedroom as well…so suburbs it is! I’m actually really excited now that I’ve wrapped my head around it. This will be our first actual house!
So, new baby and new house. Is that enough of an update!?
I should talk about Kennedy…she is, after all, the whole raison d’être for this blog! That little sweetheart is a handful! I mean that in a good way, but seriously…she is nuts!
(1) She’s a climber. That in and of itself is going to send me to an early grave (I will post pictures of some of her escapades).
(2) She’s freakin’ clever! Obviously. But seriously…she was climbing on her piano and bench to get at some hair bows that I had hanging on her wall…so we moved the piano and bench. Well, she quickly figured out that she could carry the bench to wherever she wanted, and climb at will! We’ve since had to hide the piano bench, lol!
(3) She is a chatterbox! She doesn’t really have words yet (well…not many), but she never stops chattering! It’s hilarious. When she does figure out her words, we won’t be able to shut her up! Like mother like daughter, I guess!
(4) She’s got music in her. If she’s not singing, she’s dancing. Often she’ll be dancing to whatever song we have playing…but even there’s no music on…she’ll start singing and then dance to her own song! So cute.
Okay…I really should get back to work. This has been a seriously unproductive day. I’ve spent most of it staring at pictures of the house that I think we’re going to buy. Must.try.to.work. Especially since I only have approximately 6 months left of work before my next maternity leave – woo hoo!

The Best Year of Ours Lives...So Far! :)
Okay, I know I've said this before...I'm a bad little blogger. :(
It has been brought to my attention that there are still people who check my sad little lonely blog for updates, hoping for some pictures of Miss Kennedy, and being constantly disappointed by my neglect of this little corner of the "interwebs"!
But I'm back! And the good news is that I start back to work next week (okay, that in and of itself is TERRIBLE news...but more on that later)...but my being back at work means that I'll be sitting in front of a computer all day and will likely be looking for a little baby-related distraction...so the blog should get much more consistent updates soon! I say "should" because I refuse to make promises about the blog these days...I just can't be sure that I'll have time. But I will definitely try.
Okay, on to the good stuff. A year ago today (in fact, a year ago to the hour!), my sweet, amazing, chubby little bundle of awesomeness was born! A year ago today I was introduced to a kind of love that I never knew existed. One that runs to your very core and completely defines you. I love my husband to pieces, but it's somehow not the same kind of love that you have for your child (I'm sure he would say the same). It makes my eyes fill with happy tears just thinking about how much more full my life is with her in it! That kid amazes me every day...and it just keeps getting better!
Okay, that calls for some pictures! (Hee hee...any excuse to post some pictures of my cute little muffin!) The saddest part of looking through the pictures on my computer is that I realize that I haven't posted anything in MONTHS! So we're going back to August for pictures here...bear with me!
These are a couple of pictures from when we went to the waterpark with the little lady! Just hanging out on our blanket, soaking in the sun!
And it wouldn't be a photo update without a bunch of naked shots of our little cutiepie!

Her second favorite thing to do...stare out her bedroom window (she's become quite the little attraction to people walking by on the street)!
And another stinkin' cute outfit (this time, Jelly the Pug)...mommy may be creating a little clothes monster...but it's totally worth it!

The homemade quilt she got from her Babka, Baba and Auntie Cari!
Wanted to get a picture of the letters that I had hand-painted for her.
And no, she doesn't sleep with all these pillows in her crib (I have heard of SIDS, don't worry!)...I was just doing a test to see how they would look (they're for when we convert her crib into a daybed). :)
I promise I will update more as soon as my computer cools down (all of this picture uploading has the little hamster in there huffing and puffing)...and my fingers and eyes are getting tired! Be back soon...

Sorry...
I owe you several posts...but I just haven't been up to it until now. My grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago, so it's been a tough couple of weeks.
Kennedy is still doing great...crawling like a maniac...and now trying to walk (wanting to stand as much as possible...ugh my aching back!). :) I'll do another post soon, but right now, Kennedy is up from her nap and is calling for me!

Quick Updates
I have more pictures and a couple of videos to post, but (a) the camera is back in Kennedy's room (where she's sleeping), and (b) I need to use Prof Man's computer to edit the videos (no fancy editing or anything...just cutting them down because they are way longer than necessary!). So while I have nothing fun to upload, I did want to quickly post a couple of updates (for record-keeping purposes).
(1) Two days ago (Wednesday, July 27), Kennedy cut two more teeth. These are top teeth...but not her two front teeth (which is the order they're "supposed" to come in)...she cut what appear to be her I-teeth!? What'd I tell you about my little vampire baby!? :)
(2) She also remembered how to crawl again (same day -- Wednesday, July 27). She motors around everywhere now -- so cute and so fun! Not a hassle yet or anything...particularly because she hates to crawl on the laminate or hardwood (to the point that when she gets out there and realizes what she's done, she rolls over and starts crying). Poor thing...I think it hurts her knees (she's crawling with bare legs because that seems to be that seems to be the only way she likes to crawl...also because it has actually been fairly hot here the last few days).
So now we've got a little crawling vampire on our hands. But this one isn't afraid of wooden stakes. Just wooden floors. ;)

And another one!
Whew! Today was a rough day. Poor little nugget has at least 3 teeth coming through (and that's just the obvious ones)! She's not a happy camper. Naps are hard to come by, so she's generally grouchy...but she's also in pain, so she's just on edge. She'll play, but every so often, she just cries for no apparent reason (presumably a complaint that she's in pain). So sad. I'm not a fan of medicating babies, but she's had two doses of Baby Tylenol already today. We'll see how the evening goes. She's sleeping now, but if tonight is anything like last night, that won't last long...
So, onward and upward! We left off last night with the June 19 uploaded photos...so let's just continue on from there. Once I've loaded all the photos, I'll go back and try to fill in any interesting details that I don't want to forget from the last month or so.
One thing I meant to note in my last post is Kennedy's new found love of pointing! She points at everything and everyone! She has figured out that if she points at something, I'll usually take her there...she's got me wrapped around her little finger (and I love it!). :)
Looking cute in her purple outfit. Accessorized (of course) with a headband and a couple of little crochet flower clips (that I won!). Umm...also "accessorized" by a little barf in the corner of her mouth. Because we're classy like that.
What'd I tell ya about the pointing!?
Umm...not sure why I took a naked shot of Kennedy and Jackie sharing a toy (and now I'm posting it)!?
...and now they're sharing a kiss!
I love this one because she looks so much like I did as a baby here!
Here she is in a cute little owl dress that I bought her (it all started when I got a cute little owl bow...then I found a lady that makes dresses out of matching fabric! I still haven't received the bow, but at least the dress is adorable!). The dress is actually just a little peasant dress...but I changed it up a bit by adding the green satin sash! So cute! She is a day over 8 months old in this picture (yes, I forgot to take a picture on her "8 month birthday"...bad mommy!). I could NOT get a smile out of her for these. This was the best I could get.
Playing with a hand-me-down toy from her cousins...she is just starting to get into this one! This is not a great picture (I'm not sure what she's doing here...eyes closed and all!)...but this was her first time wearing 12 month jeans...so I felt the need to post it!).
Okay, these last few are of her newest outfit! I am so completely in love with everything that this woman makes (she has several other outfits on the way...and I will be ordering more soon!). I got the headband made to match by my favorite facebook business (Little Sweet Pea Creations -- thanks Melissa!).

So i just realized that these actually only go to about a week ago. So there are a bunch more pictures still on the camera. The camera is in Kennedy's room, so the last few update pictures will have to wait! I'm tired of typing anyways, so...ta-ta for now (he he, ta-ta...I have such a juvenile sense of humour...I blame my husband)!
