I have more pictures and a couple of videos to post, but (a) the camera is back in Kennedy's room (where she's sleeping), and (b) I need to use Prof Man's computer to edit the videos (no fancy editing or anything...just cutting them down because they are way longer than necessary!). So while I have nothing fun to upload, I did want to quickly post a couple of updates (for record-keeping purposes).
(1) Two days ago (Wednesday, July 27), Kennedy cut two more teeth. These are top teeth...but not her two front teeth (which is the order they're "supposed" to come in)...she cut what appear to be her I-teeth!? What'd I tell you about my little vampire baby!? :)
(2) She also remembered how to crawl again (same day -- Wednesday, July 27). She motors around everywhere now -- so cute and so fun! Not a hassle yet or anything...particularly because she hates to crawl on the laminate or hardwood (to the point that when she gets out there and realizes what she's done, she rolls over and starts crying). Poor thing...I think it hurts her knees (she's crawling with bare legs because that seems to be that seems to be the only way she likes to crawl...also because it has actually been fairly hot here the last few days).
So now we've got a little crawling vampire on our hands. But this one isn't afraid of wooden stakes. Just wooden floors. ;)

And another one!
Whew! Today was a rough day. Poor little nugget has at least 3 teeth coming through (and that's just the obvious ones)! She's not a happy camper. Naps are hard to come by, so she's generally grouchy...but she's also in pain, so she's just on edge. She'll play, but every so often, she just cries for no apparent reason (presumably a complaint that she's in pain). So sad. I'm not a fan of medicating babies, but she's had two doses of Baby Tylenol already today. We'll see how the evening goes. She's sleeping now, but if tonight is anything like last night, that won't last long...
So, onward and upward! We left off last night with the June 19 uploaded photos...so let's just continue on from there. Once I've loaded all the photos, I'll go back and try to fill in any interesting details that I don't want to forget from the last month or so.
One thing I meant to note in my last post is Kennedy's new found love of pointing! She points at everything and everyone! She has figured out that if she points at something, I'll usually take her there...she's got me wrapped around her little finger (and I love it!). :)

Looking cute in her purple outfit. Accessorized (of course) with a headband and a couple of little crochet flower clips (that I won!). Umm...also "accessorized" by a little barf in the corner of her mouth. Because we're classy like that.

What'd I tell ya about the pointing!?

Umm...not sure why I took a naked shot of Kennedy and Jackie sharing a toy (and now I'm posting it)!?

...and now they're sharing a kiss!

I love this one because she looks so much like I did as a baby here!

Here she is in a cute little owl dress that I bought her (it all started when I got a cute little owl bow...then I found a lady that makes dresses out of matching fabric! I still haven't received the bow, but at least the dress is adorable!). The dress is actually just a little peasant dress...but I changed it up a bit by adding the green satin sash! So cute! She is a day over 8 months old in this picture (yes, I forgot to take a picture on her "8 month birthday"...bad mommy!). I could NOT get a smile out of her for these. This was the best I could get.

Playing with a hand-me-down toy from her cousins...she is just starting to get into this one! This is not a great picture (I'm not sure what she's doing here...eyes closed and all!)...but this was her first time wearing 12 month jeans...so I felt the need to post it!).

Okay, these last few are of her newest outfit! I am so completely in love with everything that this woman makes (she has several other outfits on the way...and I will be ordering more soon!). I got the headband made to match by my favorite facebook business (Little Sweet Pea Creations -- thanks Melissa!).

Standing on her own!

...and here she is just looking like a little ham! This one just makes me giggle!

I was playing around with the brightness on these ones...

So i just realized that these actually only go to about a week ago. So there are a bunch more pictures still on the camera. The camera is in Kennedy's room, so the last few update pictures will have to wait! I'm tired of typing anyways, so...ta-ta for now (he he, ta-ta...I have such a juvenile sense of humour...I blame my husband)!

Blog? What Blog?
Hee hee...when I last left you, Kennedy was just waking up from a nap. My excuse is that she hasn't slept since!!! Ha ha! Okay, so I kind of just forgot about updating. I mean...I thought about it, but by the time I had a few minutes to sit down and do an update, I either completely forgot, or got distracted with my newest love: shopping on facebook for hair accessories and cute little girl clothing!!! I'm totally addicted! I also have a bit of a problem with the entering contests on facebook (to win...what else!? Little girl hair accessories!!!). I have actually been quite lucky in my contest-entering endeavors...but have pissed off most of my friends with the constant annoying page "likes" etc. that go along with entering these contests (for the record, I was only recently made aware that other people got updates about my facebook escapades! Sorry!). :)
What was my point? Hmmm...I guess I didn't really have one. Except that I'm sorry I haven't updated in forever and a day. I owe you lots of funny anecdotes and cute pictures. I can only provide you with the latter. Because I have lost what little ability I had to be amusing! I'll do my best...but I make no promises!
So...updates...you know that Kennedy has two little teeth...she still only has the two (though more are on their way any day now!)...but she has figured out how to inflict a SERIOUS amount of damage with those two evil little pearls! Mommy has a pretty large hole. Yes hole. You know where. It is NOT pretty. It is somewhat infected. I am not happy (and nursing often ends in tears for both of us these days). But I am nothing if not stubborn...so we are sticking with this thing. The goal is 12 months. We'll see if me, Kennedy, and perhaps most importantly, my nipples (!) make it. Shudder. I ache a little just thinking about the fact that I have to feed her again in a couple of hours! ;) I love that little vampire...and she loves nursing (though she shows it in a nasty little way!)...so we will persevere!
Kennedy crawled for the first time the a couple of days ago (Friday, July 22 to be exact -- trying to preserve milestones here!). She subsequently forgot how to crawl (on Saturday, July 23 -- hee hee!). I remember that she did the same thing with rolling...so I'm sure she'll get the skill back soon. Right now she does an awkward craling/dragging/seal flopping motion. Fairly effective. Not graceful. I should get a video clip of it...it's pretty amusing!
She loves standing now (assisted, of course). Would rather be standing than pretty much anything else (other than, I assume, biting mommy's boobs!). It's really cute...she dances to music and bops around. She's starting to take baby steps (ahh, now I understand the origin of the term!), so walking may be just around the corner (though I kind of doubt it, because she doesn't really pull up on anything or cruise yet...just reaches for mommy or daddy's hands and pulls herself up that way).
She's getting more and more into solids lately. She was falling a little behind in that area, but we're working on it. Behind you ask? Well, the stupid books (why do I still read the stupid books!?) said that she should have been eating crackers etc. a long time ago, but I was so paranoid about choking that I guess I waited a little longer than necessary to start giving her anthing other than blended up solids. Her first cherios were ones that I broke in half because I was so afraid that she'd choke on them. She didn't choke. Just made a dramatic gagging sound any time one got near her epiglotis! Thankfully the drama has subsided and she's loving cherios (gasp -- whole cherios!) now. She's also really into grapes (cut up into something like 8 pieces...'cause halfs or quarters seem to big for this wimpy mommy!). I just got her some cereal cookies (basically just teething biscuits), and she's loving those! They are insanely messy (but a cute kind of messy!).
Okay, I wasn't going to do it (because it's gross AND will someday be embarrassing for my little sweetheart), but I HAVE to tell this story. A few weeks after she started solids (probably something like a month ago), my little baby was having a rough time with her tummy. She wasn't used to the feel of...well...pooping! Hee hee...TMI!? She turned all red and was making grunting sounds (which, of course, she totally still does)...and then she started crying. Poor little baby, I thought...she needs her diaper changed (which she did). In the middle of the diaper change, my poor little sweet pea starting bawling again. I stopped to comfort her, and rubbed her tummy. Then it happened.
Have you ever seen the playdoh barbershop, where the playdoh pushes out of the dolls heads? Umm, yeah. I sat there and watched my poor little baby have the largest solid baby poop I have every seen (still haven't seen one that big). Oddly enough, I wasn't grossed out. I felt so bad for her that it was only sad (and a little funny because I literally had the playdoh reference running though my head while I watched in horror as my perfect little baby pooped all over the floor!). Okay mostly funny (once she'd stopped crying). Maybe that story isn't entertaining to anyone else...but I'm writing it down, because it is a memory that I don't want to forget. Sorry! :)
And with that...pictures (which is likely the only reason anyone "reads" this blog in the first place)! First off -- these are the pictures that I was TRYING to upload on May 21 when I last posted!
Posing with mommy before going out for a nice walk in the sunshine!

Playing with Uncle James!

"This is what I do to my mommy's boobies!"

Loving her little play kitchen (how sad is it that I have already bought her another giant play kitchen and am hiding it away for some future birthday or Christmas gift!?).

Oh my goodness. This is so sad. I just realized that I haven't written about the end of the playoffs!? Well...it didn't go as planned. The boys went *almost* all the way. :( Next year...next year. Here is a cute Canuck-related picture to help with my heartache. I'll post more soon.

Okay, now I'm going to try to go in chronological order as much as possible...so here are pictures that I pulled off the camera on June 7!
I just thought this was cute (plus I think my baby is a genius!)...she totally understands the concept of a mirror!

Having a little nap with Jackie!

Jackie is underwhelmed that I'm taking pictures of this tender moment!

Here are some little owl clippies that I won (yay facebook!).

And they even stay in what little hair she has (well...long enough to snap a picture at least!).

Here are a couple of her looking cute (with another product of my little addiction...such a cute little flower headband!). I had almost forgotten her habit of making this wide open mouth face every time she was happy!? She doesn't do that anymore! It's crazy how quickly things change and phases come and go. Sniff sniff. :(

This one just makes me laugh!

And another cute headband (a little big for her still...but it looks cute nonetheless)!

And we're at June 19. Yeesh. THis is my punishment for taking so long to update. I have to sit here and wait while blogger slugs away trying to upload all these old pictures.
(PS - as I write this, Kennedy has woken up and is intermittently crying...so I may have to finish this post later on with a second update!)
Okay, I was gone (but you didn't know that) and now I'm back. I decided to just save this and then run and help out my wee babe. The teething is going full tilt right now, so sleep has not been good. She went down at around 7pm, but woke up at around 9:45 crying. I've been trying to soothe her ever since. Finally broke down and fed her and gave her some baby Tylenol. Now she's back asleep...we'll see how long that lasts. Poor little thing. :(
So, June 19 (well, the pictures up to and including June 17, I should say). Here we go!
This her about to say "Mom" (well..."momomomomomom"). She started a couple of months ago, but now she actually understands that I'm mom! So fun!

Here we are reading (hmmm...it seems that whenever Prof Man has the camera, my boobs are front and centre!?).

The next several were taken on our week long vacation at Manteo in Kelowna. Here she is with her cousins.

And here she is just lookin' cute!

Having a bath in the sink!?

There are a bunch more pictures...just not on my camera apparently. I'll have to track them down and get them posted soon!
Here she is playing with Jackie (a daily thing). Jackie just gave her a kiss.

Busted!

Okay. She's crying again. This update will have to wait. Up next are all the pictures between June 19 and now! I'll try to post soon...maybe even later tonight. We'll see how it goes.
