You've already heard the highlights of life in the hospital (which was where we spent most of the first week), but there are a few things that I haven't touched on.
Highlights:
-Kennedy was as good as can be expected for a hungry little baby. She had some rough nights, but was otherwise a great little baby her first week. And with that -- more pictures!

-Daddy burping Red Dragon (yes, the nickname stuck!).

-Kennedy's first bath! Here are some pictures (she wasn't too happy about the first bath...but things have gotten much better since!).
-Getting to come home on Friday! Here's Kennedy all dressed up for her first trip in the car!

-And for good measure, a cute pic of Prof-Man and Red Dragon when we first got home!
-Everyone was so generous! When we got home, we were greeted with tons of food, flowers, gifts, etc. It was amazing!
-Puppies missed us terribly -- but Jackie was instantly in love with baby Kennedy.
Lowlights:
-C-section recoveries are slow and painful!
-Ended up with a raging case of PUPPS that flared up on the operating table and seemed to get worse in that first week (crazy itchy to the point of being painful).
-Also had terrible rashes all over my body that were likely a result of hormones, being stuck in a sweaty, disgusting hospital bed for a week, being shot full of antibiotics, IV fluids and other drugs.
-Unfortunately, Malcolm was showing signs of having something wrong with him (breaks my heart, but more on that later).
Weeks 2 through 4 (November 22-December 12).
Unfortunately, after that first week, things kind of became a blur. I can however talk about a few of the highlights and lowlights...
Highlights:
-Jackie still can't get enough of Kennedy!

-We are so in love with our little lady. She is such an adorable little munchkin! And with that, more pitures are in order! :)
(not sure how she managed to lift her legs like that!?)

I should also note that Kennedy started giving us her first real smiles (i.e. not associated with gas or falling asleep) in her 4th week (yay -- she's already ahead of the curve!). This picture was taken on the evening of the "4 week birthday" (hee hee...December 13).

-Kennedy's first professional photo shoot!

Lowlight:
-Malcolm had to be taken to the vet. They weren't sure if he had a slipped disk or tumor or something wrong with his brain...but in any event, it was bad. The neurologist thought that it might be a slipped disk and advised a form of doggy bed rest. We basically had to make sure that he didn't do stairs and didn't jump. Life was a little tough (brand new baby, mommy still recovering from surgery, sick puppy)...but I would have done anything to keep my poor puppy comfortable (I'm welling up just thinking about it).
